Reckless Adandon

Just below a nasty descending corner marked as a 55 mph section. I slow to 65 mph in the Prius on this section.

Colorado Hwy 52 at mm 98.5.

A case for reckless abandon for living and driving  in Weld County might be a stretch. We did lose a Mitsubishi pickup due to tornado/hail damage a few years ago.

It is not reckless if it makes the ecofreaks happy.

Gutless politicians recklessly spending public funds.

Ok, ok, it is a weak post, alright?

Sorry for all of the eco freaks, hop heads and powder puffs who fled California and ended up in Colorado. I couldn't do anything to stop them...really. There is an exodus going on now for Arizona and I'm not the only one. That's why I bought more land. Sure as Bob's your uncle, some eco freak or gay liberation person would have bought it and then I'd have had to deal with it. There aren't California people moving to my area. There aren't any people moving there. But I don't like them at all. The surrounding presence of national forest gives me some measure of comfort.

I have to "go Galt" and put all of that stuff behind me.

Your is a story of using the fruits of your lifelong labors to secure your prefered corner of the world. Salute!

If I were you, LL, I'd get AZ license plates right now. Don't wait, some local might see those CA plates and you will be a marked man forever.

And remember to eliminate from your vocabulary the following words: bummer, dude, awesome and bitchin'.

And "like", like bummer dude, like, awesome downer.

I read that link about the wind turbines.

"Electrify the ground water"???

Seriously?

Well Seasoned Fool said...

Seems a stretch. Subtle manipulation by a left leaning rag? Quote the least creditable.

I understand the acoustic noise issues these things can cause, and the residents are experiencing them. My comment was about "electrifying the ground water", which simpoly has no basis in fact.

And I have no doubt a newspaper from Colorado Springs would be left-leaning. That's one of the liberal areas, isn't it?

Well Seasoned Fool said...

My bad. The Springs is considered a conservative area. Many retired military among others. Home to Michelle Malkin. Doesn't mean the paper would like to be leftist but needs to be very subtle to avoid losing advertisers.

OK. Considering the USAF Academy is there, I would have thought it was more conservative than say, some place like Aspen, Vail, or Denver!

Most of the people I've met in the Fort Collins area have seemed to be conservative, except for the younger ones getting brainwashed at CSU.

I'm sure CSU is more conservative than say, Bezerkley, but still, it's a University, and most of those are "liberal breeding grounds" in my experience....

I ordered the White Mountain Apache license plates. I'm now self-identifying as an Apache (as of yesterday) since I learned that they don't need an official season to go hunting big game. I'll include the experience in my blog tomorrow.

Tempered by the agriculture and engineering focus. Started life as Colorado A&I.

Channeling your inner Elizabeth Warren?

drjim said...

Yeah, being an A&I school would tend to make the faculty a bit more pragmatic, at least those who teach the A&I courses.

I can't recall ever meeting a "liberal" Engineer. Dealing with cold, hard facts tends to make you a realist and a conservative....

I know one, a second cousin who is a chemical engineer. In his defense, he was born, raised, and schooled in Boston.

Why not? Race is just a construct and you should be able to change your race just as often as you're able to change your gender self-identification.

Colorado 'used' to be conservative... Until the Kaliforinacs moved in... sigh

Old NFO said...

Or was that Kailfornicators???

Well Seasoned Fool said...

The most obvious demographic. East Coast trust fund babies do as much damage, if not more.

Well Seasoned Fool said...

Either will do.

Personally I wouldn't want to piss off an Apache.

Dude, then you wonder why Wyoming doesn't like greenies coming in. LOL

No problem, I'm a Wyoming native (Saratoga).
